From Kathie Morrissey at The Character Corner - Proverbs for Parenting by Barbara Decker -

Today's post is from Chasity Burrell of Heritage Acres Homestead! She has a great pumpkin decor craft to share and a pumpkin cream cheese spread! Definitely visit her site! She has become one of our newest writers, and we love her ideas! Thank you for being our guest today Chasity!

Autumn is all about pumpkins to me. I love pumpkins. I love the sizes, the shapes, the different colors, I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin lattes… You just can’t go wrong. Everything pumpkin just makes it feel like FALL has truly arrived.

My little craft project will take just minutes of your time and very few materials.
All you need is some jute, a roll of toilet paper and a stick.

Take the jute and cut a very long strand and begin winding it around your roll of toilet paper. This is very easy, and your children will probably want to help! Let them, make some together. It will take a little perseverance from your child, but it will be worth it in the end.

Once you have finished covering the entire roll with jute, then you can slip a little knot in on the backside to hold things together or push the raw end under some of the weaves, it will stay put.

Find a stick that will fit and plop it right in the hole and you’re finished!
Easy Peasy!

You could make several of these pumpkins to make a patch. You could wrap one with ribbon, raffia, yarn… You could stack one on top of the other… the possibilities are endless!

Pumpkin Cream Cheese

To go along with your cute little craft, whip up some of this pumpkin cream cheese for your family tea time or for tomorrow’s breakfast. It’s easy too!

1 block of cream cheese
½ cup pumpkin puree
2 Tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp cloves
½ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp allspice

Or you can eliminate those spices and opt for 2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice.
Mix together and slather on a bagel, some sugar cookies or a piece of toast for a yummy pumpkin treat!
Happy Fall Y’all!

How about a few more recipes?
